University and Location
Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is a research-intensive university with globally acknowledged strengths in science and engineering. Ranked among the top 20 technology universities in the world, NTU provides a high-quality global education to more than 30,000 students, including 7,000 international students. With twelve schools organized in four colleges, NTU is an excellent choice for engineering, science, business and the humanities and social sciences. An island city-state, Singapore is a dynamic mix of ethnicities and cultures including ethnic Chinese, Malay and Indian. Singapore has a population of 4.5 million, a thriving commercial and financial center and is the busiest port in the world. The NTU campus is situated on nearly 500 acres of greenery and offers a wealth of student activities.
Summer Program
The NTU Summer Program offers 20 courses over 5 tracks:
- Language and Cultural Studies
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Creative Design and Media
- Success in the Globalized Marketplace
- New Technologies, New World
Courses in the Entrepreneurship track are taught over a two week period; all other classes are taught over a four-week period. Students will select two courses from a single track or across tracks.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in an array of organized social and extracurricular activities and events designed to introduce them to Singaporean and Asian culture.

Language of Instruction
With the exception of foreign language classes, all instruction will be in English.
Accommodation and Meals
Participants will be housed in double-occupancy rooms in an NTU residence hall. Meals are available for purchase in the residence all canteens, food shops, or eateries located on the NTU campus.
Program Fees and Expenses
This program is part of the Rensselaer/NTU undergraduate exchange. Students will be responsible for all program expenses, including travel, accommodation, meals, and visa fees. Accommodation costs are approximately US$425 for a two-week stay and US$800 for a four-week stay. Students will also be responsible for administrative and registration fees charged by NTU of approximately US$800
Application Process
Students must be nominated by the Office of International Programs. Rensselaer application materials are due by Wednesday, March 27. Nominated students will be required to submit an application to NTU no later than Friday, April 12.
